When generating electricity, G2Power’s ”Indirect-Fire” Cycle combustion sCO2 stream goes through a heat exchanger prior to a sCO2 turbine or any type of steam turbine technology. Indirect-Fire makes an Indirect-fire sCO2 turbine design and integration simple. An indirect-fire sCO2 turbine has independently been demonstrated successfully (TRL8)

High-Pressure closed-loop system. The G2Power sCO2 System is not a retrofit of an existing boiler. Unlike typical or past known low-pressure oxy-combustion systems, G2Power’s system supercritical fluid-like properties provide system advantages that include greater combustion efficiency, lower operating costs and smaller equipment with reduced capex

Unlike a Post Combustion Capture Plant, G2Power has no stack solvent/scrubbers, no gathering of stack sources, no exotic chemicals, and no major capital equipment for scrubbing/post combustion capture. In Canada, only two(2) industrial scale PCC operating units (Petro Nova and Boundary Dam). Neither site has achieved anywhere near attractive cost or on-line performance – available data indicates CO2 capture cost is USD$102/tonne*. Key Amine solvents are degraded by oxygen in the combustion off gas – long-term rate of solvent loss and undesirable chemical byproducts (n-nitrosamines**) may create operating cost and stakeholder-acceptance risks.
